Ovulation testing
(Cytology)
Swabs taken to ascertain best time to mate, results are instant, it is cheaper and less invasive than bloods with a high rate of success. For optimal results tracking a season from day 8 is best, and more accurate than a single test.
Typically I retest every 2 or 3 days until ovulation occurs. How many tests we do will be dependent on the girls cycle.

Pregnancy scans to be done ideally 30/ 31 days after last matings.
If you have a long haired or large breed and require a rough count scanning at 35 days is advantageous.
Gestational sack measuring can also be done to give an estimated due date.
Videos and photos can be taken

Formal semen analysis
Detailed formal semen analysis utilising a CASA system to track the path of the semen (videos can be taken of the sample).
The report will come with a formal count, documenting the % of motile sperm as well as a morphology grading.
I take great pride in this being accurate with me checking several parameters and running a few tests, as such the report is emailed a day or so after your visit.
This sort of report is ideal for new studs, studs that have had a long gap between breedings, old dogs and studs that have recently had girls miss.
